Default Green Card Marriage Fraud in Maryland

    Hi,

I need some advice on getting an annulment in Maryland as my husband, a British national, is trying to coerce me into filing a spousal visa petition. I fell prey to his influence after I had been separated from my ex-husband for 2 months and we met online. Thereafter, an online relationship began with multiple daily emails, but no phone calls. This relationship continued for 2 years..we each travelled across the Atlantic to visit each other for extended periods on visitor's visas. Each time he came over he brought more of his belongings so within the 2 year period he had essentially moved in.He pressured me relentlessly everyday to get my divorce and threatened to end the relationship if it didn't come through soon.Right after the divorce, he gave me no time to heal, but insisted we marry immediately which we did.He is a good con man and answered all of my concerns about his intentions with me so I believed that he really loved me.Within days of the wedding his attitide towards me changed; he was cold, aloof and behaving like a bully. He threatened to leave me 2 days after the wedding right in front of his parents who were visiting which humiliated me to no end.One week before the wedding we had an argument and he squeezed my arm so hard it became bruised. He also threw water in my face during another argument. The last straw was when he abandoned me on our honeymoon in Miami at my timeshare. After coming back, he plotted with his relatives to move-out and go to first NJ, then Ca then back to the UK.He called me last night to pressure me to file his spousal visa and I told him I would not until he returned and we worked our marriage out. He then threatened me to never return to the States. How can I get this scam of a marriage annuled? Thank you for your patience.

    Terri

From a website I will not give credit to:

Annulment is a relatively rare special action that establishes that your marriage never existed. If a court finds the facts necessary to grant an annulment it is as if you and your spouse were never married. The factors necessary to prove an annulment are difficult to meet and therefore courts are reluctant to grant an annulment and may grant a divorce instead.

It's easier to get a divorce in Maryland.
