This is the most ticky-tacky ticket I have ever gotten. I live in California and while I was visiting Colorado, I was sited for improper lane change. There was two lanes to turn left into the only two lanes on the next street. I was in the far right turn lane and as I turned, I landed up in the leftest most turn lane. There were no tracks to guide me into the correct lane and in fact, there was just no plain painted lines anywhere. It was dark at night and really hard to tell where to go. The way the intersection is set up is huge and it would appear as if you would have to travel in the next lane to complete your turn. The oncoming traffic onto the other street has three lanes; whereas the side of the street I am turning onto has only two lanes...very confusing to say the least.
I went to the traffic department and I was told that that intersection should have tracks, which they call "puppy dog tracks." I was also told that through the snow and snowplows, the paint lining and tracks become faded or disappear, which was clearly the case at my intersection.
Here is the dilemma...I live in California, so how to I fight this in Colorado. I really do not have the money to go back there. The only thing I can think of is fight the case and of course win (because I have hard core evidence), than I can sue the city for my travel trip to have to fight the case. What are your thoughts?
