What Do You Need to Get Emancipated

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: I have a part time job at smiths, I'm 16, I have my own bank account, I Have money saved in the bank. But I still live with my parents cause they won't let me move out, I wanna move out cause my dads a bad alcoholic. Im in Las Vegas. I know alittle about emancipation I know you have to be able to prove you can be on your own and I know you have to have a job and show you make enough. Can I get emancipated? Or what do I need to get emancipated?

If your parents won't let you move out, then that's it. No emancipation for you.

Cbg was likely referring to this. (Nevada law);

NRS 129.080  Minor may petition juvenile court for decree of emancipation; reference to master.  Any minor who is at least 16 years of age, who is married or living apart from his or her parents or legal guardian, and who is a resident of the county, may petition the juvenile court of that county for a decree of emancipation. The district court may refer the petition to a master appointed pursuant to title 5 of NRS or chapter 432B of NRS.p



since you live with your parents you are not eligible for emancipation.

Realistically, your chances are slim to none.

If he beats you and your mother, you call the police.

Otherwise, if there is no domestic abuse going on, then you are probably stuck until you are 18.

FYI, I am not aware of any state that will emancipate a minor who is living at home, for the purpose of forcing the parents of that minor to allow him or her to move out against the wishes of those parents. That's not what emancipation is for.
