My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
Okay, here's the story.
Made a left turn from a parking lot that said, "No left turns." Okay. Got it. Guilty... I accept the 21461(a) - vc21461(a)... but the citing officer also added "No evid. of financial responsibility" 16028(a) - vc16028(a) as I was pulling up my information on my phone, which in California is a legal form of proof of insurance. The officer, a CHP, said something about the information had to be in the form of an email not on my insurance provider's app. He stated I could just appear before the judge with the proof of insurance in hand and have it written off.
So, I got the summons in the mail, I'm now out of state for work, and there's an option to pay everything in full... over $1100, or trial by declaration.
Part of the trial by declaration process is sending a check for the full amount, along with the documents proving I had insurance, along with an additional $25 for the processing of the item I am contesting. But, what happens if they do write off the 16028(a) - vc16028(a), will I get something in the mail and have to send yet another check for the illegal turn?
