My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Oklahoma.
I have an emancipation hearing coming up and my mother is behaving erratically, and irrationally. I worry that when my next friend picks me up (we're riding to court together) to get to the hearing she may try to stop this. Can she? Is it illegal for her to restrain me from going to my hearing? I know if I am able to say with absolute certainty that she can not do that, she won't give me too much flack, but I could see her "grounding" me the day of. Would there be risks to me for going regardless of what she says? If she physically stops me from going (sabotaging my friend's car, locking me in somewhere, I never know what to expect with her) is that illegal? Will I be held responsible for any possible offenses by not showing up to my hearing if she does that? After today's events, I worry this may be a real issue. She's reacting very negatively to this now.
