Default What Can Your Parents Do if Your Boyfriend Sneaks Into the House

My question involves civil rights in the State of: Virginia
When I was 15 years old, my dad went through my phone and discovered that my boyfriend at the time were sexually active and that we smoked pot. My parents were far against that and thought my boyfriend was the worst possible influence and the worst person in the world. My dad banned us from seeing each other and had an agreement with my boyfriends parents that we weren't allowed to be together. We kept our relationship a secret for a while and eventfully moved on. However, even though we weren't in a relationship we remained close. On Sunday night, I had been going through some personal things. In the middle of the night, I invited him over for comfort. When leaving the next morning, my dad caught him. My ex boyfriend ran out before my dad could say something to him or worse. My dad left my ex boyfriend a message on his house phone saying that he's going to take this to legal matters. What can my dad "legally" do to my ex boyfriend? We are both 18.

He could throw YOU out of the house if you don't comply with his wishes, though. He's no longer obligated to support you or provide you with a home.

I agree with both of the previous answers. You are both legal adults therefore your father cannot bring any kind of legal action against your boyfriend...but he also can throw you out as he is no longer obligated to support you.

Going forward, "trespassing" is not outside the realm of possibility.

He may be able to file a complaint against him re trespassing or breaking and entering. You need to become an adult and realize when you live under someone else's roof, you must abide by their rules. You aren't paying rent...

I do not agree. I can see trespassing for future events, but not this past one. Breaking and entering is not possible as a resident of the home invited him in.
