My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: North Carolina

I recently moved out of an apartment complex and the landlord or property management company is trying to charge me a whole bunch of fees, of which half are over-priced and the other half are totally bogus and/or wear and tear items. They claim to have paid for all the repairs already and want me to pay them extra on top of taking my security deposit. My question is in the state of NC, is the landlord required to provide proof of receipts for the items they are charging me or are they allowed to just charge whatever?
