My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida
My husband was sentenced to 2 years state time. While in state custody he had a hold placed on him by the feds. While still in state custody the US Marshalls picked him up and took him to a jail to await federal charges. He finally went to federal court and was sentenced to 2 years that would run concurrent with his state time. Now when he gets done with his state time and is taken back into federal custody, will his time count that he had served in state? And how does federal good time work? He heard that federal prisons give good time right away instead of having to earn it. If he has to earn it will he serve more time then what he should actually do , because he should only have to serve 3 months in fed custody. He was sentenced in federal court in November 2015 adn it was suppose to run with state? We are trying to figure out how the good time works and his release date. Thanks.
