My question involves criminal law for the state of: PENN
My friend is on state probation for 15 years. He just got off of state parole. He has been doing excellent in staying away from criminal activity and drug abuse as I live more than 2 1/2 hours from where he had his old "stomping grounds" as he is living with me. He has helped me out in the past and wanted to help him.
Meantime, he recently met a woman (about 6 weeks ago) back down where he used to live and got into trouble originally. He has been going down there to visit her each weekend so he has really been with her for about a total of 9 days. She has invited him to move in with her and her 14 year old son. She does not know of his complete criminal history especially the drugs ( I would assume a mother providing for her son as a single parent would be cautious of who she has around). Well he says that have great sex and he always wanted a son and she wants marriage. All of a sudden he is father material. NOPE=he is about 34, I am 60 trying to keep his head above water. He is so big headed that this kid adores him and of course his mother provides him with great sex he now wants to move down there. His present probation officer who was also his parole officer for the past 7 months is really a nice guy and looks out for him as my friend has been doing so well while on parole. His parole ended recently and now on probation. My friend says he wants to move in with this woman and her son and I told my friend that first of all his now probation officer ( the nice guy) has to even accept the home plan to be transferred down there. My friend said that he does not need a home plan like he did to move to my home when coming out of prison. I have also been in the state prison system so know most of the ins and outs but don't know about probation.
So my question is does my friend need to submit a home plan to move to this woman's house in a different district of PENN? I tell him he does. My friend knows that once he does move this probation officer more than likely will not let him come back to my home is things "bottom out" for him.
Thanks for any advice. Again, this friend of mine has helped me so much in the past I feel compelled to help him but can't decide for him his next step in life; just give him some guidance.
