Default Conflicting Provisions for Giving Notice to End a Lease

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Wisconsin

We are currently moving out of our current place. Our new place wants to sign a lease right away. When I contacted my landlord, he stated i needed a 60 day written statement that we are moving out per our lease. We have been here for 5 years, and are currently month to month (have been for years). I really tried to work with him but he is standing on this 60 days. I have recently found our lease and have noticed a few things. Although one one part concerns me. Under the spot "other obligations" he wrote "60 day written notice when moving out" although on the back of the lease it states "Rental Agreement for Term"-- 60 day written notice is required. Then it states "Month to Month Tenancy"- Tenant must provide a 30 days written statement when leaving. I know I will have to pay for June (which is fine), but he wants me to pay for July, and i'm conflicted. I will assume per the lease he needs the 30 day statement, Any advice would be great. Thanks

    Default Re: Lease Contradicts Itself

On a month to month tenancy, the state law requires only at least 28 days notice.

Feel free to quote it to him when you give your written notice in accordance with the statute:

    https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/sta...tatutes/704/19

PS: Ambiguities in a contract are generally ruled against the party who drafted the contract.
