Default Can The Police Trace Harassment of Others Through a Texting App

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Oklahom
Can/will the police trace a texting app if it was set up under different name and email? I harassed a man that was seeing several women including myself at the same time. He said he has detectives on the case and they are going for the max punishment

There is only one way to find out if the police will figure out that you were the person harassing your targets through the app: Wait and see if they identify you and seek to interview or charge you.

Almost certainly they could if they were so inclined. The question would be if they were inclined. Your "ACCOUNT" info you set up will be pretty transparent if you used a smartphone. They almost certainly know the phone involved.

Is there anything I can do before they find me? Change phones? How likely will the police get involved

No, the cat's out of the bag at this point. The police aren't likely interested with even one, let alone SEVERAL detectives on the case.

This is not the sort of case that gets a lot of traction. If the harassment has stopped, it doesn't involve threats of physical harm, and your victim is not a nationally known figure, it's a pretty good bet that the cops are not doing much about it at all. This is a minor offense that MIGHT have one detective sitting on the case or slapping it into a file folder somewhere before he moves on to a more pressing matter.

Do yourself a favor, cease behaving like a child and move on.

That depends on what the harassment was.

If you were threatening bodily harm, you can certainly expect a more thorough investigation.

And absolutely they can find out who sent the messages.

Again, all of that depends on the severity of the harassment. If you were just being juvenile and stupid, I doubt they'll take it much further than a statement from him.

You should probably grow up though. That's a given.
