Default Accused of Stealing at Work, but a Manager Took the Money

My question involves defamation in the state of: Alabama

I was wrongfully accused of a work related incident that resulted in the termination of my job. Sadly I love my job and felt I was very good at it after only working for a limited amount of time. Things were not always great, but it was still the job I loved. I had a manager who would steal money from my register often. I went to management about it and nothing ever happened. Recently I noticed that this manager was taking longer in the office every night counting the drawers. For some reason my drawer came up short every night I worked! Which is crazy, because always make sure that my drawer is never short.

Recently my total damages that this manager managed to ring up on my account is $4,477.77 which is a lot in a 20 day period! As a cashier who works about 3 days a week for about 4 hours or less at a time. I don't have access to that type of money, because its a whole lot. As perceived I was blind sided into coming into the management office for a "meeting" as to where I was told it was about "employee benefits" I got comfortable and later it turned into a interrogation to where I was blocked and could not leave the room (Which is illegal)!! And was not allowed to call anyone not even my parents (which is also illegal)!! This sucked for me as I am a 18 year old black male. So now I am facing jail time, because of something that one of my managers had done! Which is crazy.

This manager also has 2 counts of sexual assault at the work place, but still not fired or had any criminal history added on. I am a young male still in high school who doesn't want my future destroyed by a false account made about "me". I really hate this. Maybe you guys can help save my future, because I am innocent!
    Thank you!

What has your attorney said about the charges so far?

I have yet to talk to one, because they don't know what I'm being charged with, supposedly it's supposed to be a warrant out for my arrest. Me and other associates made complaints to cooperate today and yet to get anywhere so far

That should be your main priority.

So what's your question? If you're asking if your employment was illegally terminated, the answer is "no".

To be perfectly honest, this damages your credibility:

For some reason my drawer came up short every night I worked!

It only came up short when that manager was working, but at the same time during the "meeting" I'm not supposed to be blocked in & allowed to be out. I would think since other associate complained to cooperate today that, that would help my credibility some. I would hope

To clarify, the legal definition of "wrongful termination" does not mean you were fired for something you didn't do. A wrongful termination under the law means that you were fired because of a protected characteristic, such as your race, gender, disability, age (if you're over 40), and/or religion. Being falsely accused of a crime is not a protected characteristic.
