    Default When Do Defamatory Statements Cross the Line into Criminal Harassment

    My question involves defamation in the state of: Any

    When does defamation, slander, and libel cross the line into criminal harassment or stalking. Isn't ANY form of unwanted and damaging communication with reference to your name considered criminal harassment? And isn't 2 or more instances of unwanted communications considered stalking in most states?

    Laws vary by state. Look up the stalking law for the relevant state and see if the statements at issue fit its definitions of harassing or stalking behavior.
