How to Transfer Vehicle Title from a Deceased Parent When the Title is Lost

My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: New York

my mother passed away leaving truck behind and I can't find the title for it don't know where she put it last. How do I go about getting a title in my name she was my biological mother I have death certificate and pictures of the Vin number what else can I do

Go to the nearest DMV office and say the exact same thing you've written here.

The DMV clerk will give you instructions.

Follow them.

It may involve opening probate with the Surrogate Court and getting letters acknowledging you as representative of her estate.
