My question involves real estate located in the State of: SC
Short version; I have an on-going dispute over a "landfill" or "structural fill" on my neighbors' property that is damaging my adjacent land. DHEC is involved, and are considering the GIS "property line" as accurate. The property marker in the area (placed in 2001) has been covered or obscured by this land-owner's actions, and I can't locate it.
Initially DHEC indicated that the other person would be responsible for proving his boundary. Now they don't seem so sure. The other person boasts he "has friends in high places". Considering how this has been handled (since 2008) I'm beginning to think he does.
In an equitable world (I know, I know) who would be responsible for the cost of the survey? The original Survey Company doesn't seem to exist anymore.
Any help appreciated, even if i don't like it...
