Question How Much Time Does a Plaintiff Have to Serve a Complaint

My question involves court procedures for the state of: NJ

How long from the date of filing does a plaintiff have to serve the complaint. Suit is in Superior Court (if that matters).

I have consulted the rules and while they appear to give lots of information as to the methods of service, I do not see a deadline. If you could please provide the rule too, it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

It's not measured from the filing date. You have 15 days to serve from the time you get the notice of track assignment, which is ten days or less from the filing.
