Default When Will the Police Investigate a Report of Harassment

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida.

Restraining orders are great for stalking cases but theirs other forms of harassment, years ago I've been harassed by a store employee for literally no reason. Can I call the police and have them arrested or escorted away? And leaving the store is not an option I was never asked to leave and I shouldn't have to leave, the harasser should leave by police "assistance" hehe. Anyways can I call police on somebody for harassment that doesn't involve stalking?

You have shared no relevant facts, so we have no way of knowing whether or not the person' actions could plausibly constitute a criminal act.

Well she was talking to me in an aggressive harassing manor I told her to go away and stop talking to me she wouldn't.

You haven't described anything that would constitute a crime. You are free to complain to her supervisor.

Can't they escort the harasser away?

There's no law that says a store employee has to like you or be nice to you. If you want better treatment but aren't willing to take up the issue with management, shop elsewhere.

I'm talking about getting the harasser to go away and stop talking to me, it should be a crime.

Then you can call your state legislators and ask that they make it illegal for people to be rude to you.

It is not. If you do not like the way that the store staff treat you, you are free to complain to management. You can also take your business to another store.

I’m really not willing to do the research for Florida law. But, in my state of Washington, “Harassment” has a very specific legal definition and is not the same as “Stalking.” Harassment is, in fact, a crime and in some circumstances can be charged as a felony. However, “harassment” is NOT synonymous with “I don’t like this person’s attitude” or "this person is bugging me."

My simple advice would be to put on your grown-up pants. You are free to express your opinion of poor customer service to the store management. But, a person talking to you inside THEIR place of employment, and not going away when you ask, is NOT a crime and certainly not a reason for the police to arrest or “escort” the person from the premises. Again, this is THEIR place of employment. You are merely a customer and businesses are free to refuse you service and demand you leave the store property with very little restriction.
