Pretty easy to screw it up if you don’t understand the bankruptcy law and court procedure.
then i guess i'm gonna have to lawyer up even if it is a simple case!!
With that being said, NOLO does have an excellent book if you've made up your mind to go pro se. I never recommend that course of action, but it is possible if you're willing to read, learn and perhaps post at bkforum.com for more guidance. There are several attorneys who do post there frequently.
Start by checking out all the forms that are involved in bankruptcy. If you can figure them out it might mean that you are capable of handling your BK without an attorney.
