My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: ct
hi. my boyfriend's mom was having a party and i came to it on the later side, after work, and was parked further down their (very long) driveway. at one point my bf had to go move my car to a better spot because it made getting out easier. the next morning i woke up to find someone had hit my front driver side over the wheel. i immediately told my bf & his mom and nothing was done. i've been on my bf about this and he said he spoke to his mom about it several times and she literally didn't do anything. i don't have collision because my car is 19, but is still well maintained on the outside minus this super noticeable dent that also messed up my headlight.
basically these were all her considerably drunk friends at a party and i'm astounded that adults could hit someones car and not say anything. i got into a huge fight with my bf about it last night and said i should be using my own insurance so to stfu. my insurance obviously doesn't cover this, and i have an audi so any body work will probably total my car by cost comparison.
i should also add her neighbor heard the collision, so it 100% definitely happened with witnesses. (her house & neighbor's house share part of a huge driveway off a street, but where my car was parked was on her property)
i don't think it's fair that i get screwed because of someone else. the way i look at it, if none of her friends will come forward and admit what they did, then she should be held responsible because it was on her property during a party that she was throwing. also, from what i understand, she didn't even try contacting any of the people there to find out who may have done it. that just pisses me off the most.
any advice on what to do would be awesome. thanks so much!
