My question involves child abuse or neglect in the State of: Oklahoma
My question regards an 11 y/o child who was recently removed from a home on allegations of methamphetamine use in the home. There were other allegations of child abuse including a step parent who has been in the child's life for 1 year putting his tongue in her ear, spanking her bare bottom with his hand, and scrubbing her down in the bath because she "wasn't rubbing herself hard enough". To my knowledge there will be a court hearing at a date that is currently unknown. As a 23 y/o sibling what actions can I pursue legally? The child was placed with abuser's parents at the mother's discretion. There are plenty of family members able and willing on my side of the family that will take the child if she is to be removed permanently. The child is scared and has been manipulated by both the stepfather and mother, as well as the stepfather's parents to try to intimidate her into not talking about what has been going on inside the home. Is it possible to get the judge to order a hair follicle test? Any advice on what actions can be taken are greatly appreciated.
