Default What Can Minors Do Without Parental Cooperation

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Michigan

I am 17, turning 18 in October. My adoptive mother kicked me out back in November of 2015 and I have been staying with my grandma since. When I was younger I was adopted and when that happened my last name was changed, but not my social security. How do I fix that? Can I do it on my own or does my adoptive parent need to?

I took driver's training and need to get my permit, is there a way to do that with out a parent present? If so, how?

I was able to switch school to a school closer to my grandma's, and because I am so ahead in credits they told me I can graduate with Class of 2016 and attend college in September. Do I need my parents permission to do so if I apply for my FASFA as a dependent?

Also, is there anything else that i should think about getting together for when I do turn 18? I would hate for something to come up and not know what it is or how to get it?

Once you turn 18 you don't need your parent's assistance to get either a driver's license or ID: http://www.michigan.gov/sos/0,4670,7...040---,00.html

Your custodial parents you had until you turn 18 alas will count against you until you are 24 unless you enter the military or do one of the other things that qualifies you as a FAFSA independent student. Just moving out on your own will not qualify.

There is a special section on the paper form for those not able to obtain parents financial data. A student may recieve financial aid without that in special circumstances but it is up to the individual school to review the situation and make the determination.
