My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: California
We are currently doing a complete knock down and rebuild. We've gone through all the architecture & engineering, and are just waiting for the City to approve the building permits. The process of getting to this point has taken way too long and the money expenditures so far is way over the estimated amount. Also, the estimated cost of the build has increased dramatically. We are loosing faith in our builders and just about don't trust anything they do or say at this point. We are considering getting a new builder to build the house.
Question is: Once we have approved plans from the City, are we able to switch to a different builder/contractor? Or are we locked in stone? If we do switch will the plans have to get re-approved by the City?
Thanks
