    I was hoping someone could give me some tips on getting my gun rights back after a non violent, non drug related felony conviction in west virginia

    You can talk to a lawyer there, but my understanding based on some WV Supreme Court decisions is you're probably out of luck. There's a catch-22 in the statute. You can apply to the state court to get your firearms rights back but they will not even consider it if it would violate federal law. The federal law says you must have your civil rights restored by the state, and WV will continue to enjoin you from certain things like the ability to sit on a jury. Hence, you're barred by federal law and thus may not get relief from the state court.
