Thank you for your insight. I never signed anything after my lease was up, but was insured by the management, Beth, and Jen separately that my name was taken off the lease after June and that I was no longer attached to the property. I did make sure that there was nothing I needed to sign or do when my lease was up.
I suggest you consult a New York City housing attorney at this point.

With $3500 at stake it would be worth even a couple of hundred for the consult and proper legal advice.
