My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida

I negligently sprayed a chemical on another vehicle and left the scene. The product does not cause damage to paint, or at least finished paint (vehicle was very new). An officer came to my home and asked me questions about the incident; I'm guessing that means a report. He stated it looked intentional and the chemical smelled like gasoline, and not like what I handed him. Honestly I was indeed angry at the person (why I was careless and knowingly left) and made an obscene FB post shortly after (not related to the indecent) which he stated didn't look good. From my understanding, this could be criminal mischief - vandalism under $200 - but I believe actual damage must occur. I'm worried, if correct, that the officer my have reported damages which would in turn cause the prosecutor to file charges. Or if he reported it as gasoline it could be another charge. Thoughts???
