My question involves criminal law for the state of: NY
If you are picked up on a warrant for missing a court date and then released by order of the court with an ankle bracelet can you still face more jail time if you've obeyed the rules of the ankle bracelet until your court date?
Back story: Friend was arrested for possession of stolen property, didn't know property was stolen and person who did steal it told police it was hers. My friend believes the charges will be dropped for these reasons. Missed court on accident and had a warrant put out. She was released by order of the court and now is on an ankle bracelet. Judge told her if she obeyed rules until court she'd be good. Is there a chance she could still face further punishment? (ie: jail time)
