Of course there are.
My original statement was that having thieves working for/around someone is analogous to non-violent drug offenders: Everyone agrees that they should be released, but no one wants them in their neighborhood. So too everyone agrees that someone who committed a minor crime, like a theft, should have a job, but not many people want them doing that job in their own house or for their own company.
If you do not agree with the statement that "most people would not want non-violent drug offenders released from jail to move to their neighborhood," then I suggest lobbying your neighbors with the plan to put a halfway house on your street. The people who run such institutions will jump on the bandwagon and help you get it put there, since they usually have immense trouble finding new locations without opposition from local residents. You will be doing them a great favor.
