Can a Minor Date Without Parental Consent

My question involves criminal law for the state of: ohio, I'm 16 and I'm talking to a guy who's 19. we've been hanging out for awhile now and I think we're going to begin dating soon. my mom would never go for it if she found out he was 19. all she knows right now is that he's a friend of mine, could he get in trouble if we dated and my mom doesn't give her permission?

The nature and extent of the trouble he might get into will turn on factors including (a) what you mean by "dating", and (b) whether he continues to try to date you after your parents tell him to stay away.

Honestly, if at 19 he's talking about trying to sneak around behind your parent's back, he's not worth your time.
