Default Can You Run Away and Get Emancipated in Another State

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Texas
I'm helping a friend (who lives in Texas) with getting emancipated, her homophobic mother found out she was gay and began to mentally and psychology abuse her. She took away all her communication with the outside world, the only thing she is aloud to do is go to school and even then her mother has started to work there. She can't take it much longer and she Crys all the time, all she wants to do is leave and I want to help her very badly, it sounds awful. Okay so here are my questions, it says for a requirement that you have to be ALREADY living out side of your parents home, but how are you supposed to do that if you're not emancipated yet? She also wants to move out of Texas and go back to her home state of Oregon but it says that if a minor leaves to another state (with out premission) then they can be detained and sent back, but if she has to get a place to live first then how can she get a place to live in oregon? Plus you can't get emancipated and THEN go to another state, you have to be a resident of Texas but she doesn't want to...can she say she lives with me in oregon and then once she's emancipated move into a home there for herself? She CAN make it to fit the requirements but I need information on how she can just immediately move to Oregon afterwords...its quite a predicament...oh and she's 16! Which it says that if you want to be emancipated at the age of 16 in Texas then you need to be living away first...I don't understand that part, and also why is it so bad to be emancipated then go live with someone else? Why couldn't she live with someone else? (I'm 17 by the way) I really don't understand, once an 18 year old is automatically emancipated then they can go live with anyone they want, so what's so bad about having a living arrangement with another person? If she pays for her own things and own healthcare and has a standing job and goes to school then what's so bad about it? I really don't understand? Plus how long will it take and is it possible at all to do it without parental consent?

Default Re: Confused on Some Emancipation Requirments

How is she going to support herself? Pay full market rent, utilities, insurance, clothing, food, transportation ... ?

She can't make it fit - because she can't meet the first burden.

Very simply, Mom is legally allowed to remove all communication devices, entertainment devices, and go full out "Kicked out of the garden of Eden" if she wishes.

You yourself need to be very, very careful here. If she runs to you, look at what can happen when minors are enticed over state lines.
