Angry Hit by a Vehicle that Signaled a Turn Then Proceeded Forward

My question involves a traffic accident in the State of:

Im 6 months pregnant and got t-boned by a 1998 mazda truck while in my friends 2015 ford f150 lariot. I received a failure to yield right of way at a stop sign. Two vehicles were in the lane closest to the curb with their blinkers on. After being stopped for a while waiting for traffic I preceded to make a left to get into the middle turning/suicide? lane. the first vehicle started his turn and the mazda truck behind him with his blinker on changed his mind got into the next lane and hit me. I now have a ticket that I'm trying to fight and insurance companies down my throat. I've tried to hire a lawyer with no luck and now believe i am proceeding on my own. how do i get out of fault? And what do I say to the insurance companies?

Turn signal is not a promise to turn.

You chose not to follow the instruction to identify your state. If you are stating that you were turning left into the turn lane of the cross street, instead of into an actual traffic lane, that of itself could be an issue in whatever state is involved.

there were five lanes total. two west bound, two east bound, and one lane in the middle that either side can sit and wait for traffic to clear to complete a turn. This is in Alaska BTW. the only thing I can think of is trying to prove that he didn't use his blinker to get around the guy in front of him.

In some cities in Alaska, such as Anchorage, it's explicitly unlawful to use the center left-turn lane as a merge lane.
Quote Quoting Anchorage Municipal Code Sec. 9.22.015(c)
A vehicle shall not be driven in a designated two-way left-turn lane except when preparing for or making a left turn from the roadway, or when preparing for or making a turn in the opposite direction when otherwise permitted by law. A left turn or turn in the opposite direction shall not be made from any other lane where a two-way left-turn lane has been designated.

    How would you prove that?

Any witnesses to the other driver's behavior?

Your sayso isn't going to overcome the presumption that you failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle.

Even a witness to lack of blinker might not help you much since the primary duty to yield was yours.

If the other driver was partially at fault that would make you mostly at fault. Could reduce your insurance company's payout to the other driver but you would still be surcharged for the at fault accident.
