The way it works is you see your current probation department about the move. If they think it is a reasonable request, they will contact the department in the state you will be moving to. That state will prepare their probation conditions for you and send that back to your home state. If they approve they will forward it back to the receiving state. At this point you'll be authorized to move and told to report to the receiving state. You can count on a full up intake in the receiving state (fingerprints, mug shots, drug test).
It can take several months for the paperwork to make it through the system. I've seen it take up seven in bad cases.
