To clarify, my son didn't die as a result of suicide. But, losing a child is losing a child. I have friends that have lost a child to suicide. And the ones that have allowed their anger, bitterness and blame to control their lives have lost more than a child. I may not have said that right but I pray you understand what I am trying to say.

Thank you all for this input. I know in my heart you are right but it very difficult as this person, who is truly evil, continues to cause pain in our lives. It saddens me and I feel helpless. Our son had PTSD and she just knew what to do to push him over the edge. I need to let God take care of it and move on. I am working on this and I have been getting counseling. Again, I appreciate all this input as it just confirms that I need to let it go.

    Take care of yourself, SusieSally.

Grief is something we do one minute at a time and we have to take time to grieve our own way. You'll find your way, but know that there are others who are sending you prayers and good wishes.

One if my sons Godfathers is a psychologist and he was a huge help to me after my son died. When you have other children, even if they are grown, you often try so hard to be strong for them that you forget to take care of yourself. If you belong to a church ask your Priest/Pastor /Minister /Rabbi if they know of s support group in your Ares for parents that have lost a child due to suicide. If that isn't an option call a local large hospital and ask to speak to a social worker, they are often aware of these groups. Or you could call any large church in your area and ask them.

It takes time. Everyone grieves in their own way and in their own timeframe. The first year is the worst. You will always miss him, but it does get easier as time passes. I know this may not help right now, but the person that called 911 has some severe mental problems, based on what you're said here. But they don't have the love and support from anyone like your son had from you. And that makes this whole situation that much worse. Believe it or not, you may get to the point, down the road, where you can pray for them.
