Post Who Gets to Make Decisions for the Child of a Minor Parent Who Still Lives at Home

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Ohio

My question is who has ultimate say over the decisions that need to be made for the infant if the mother is 16 and still living with parents. Father is involved but is 4 years older than mother and lives in a different state.

Unless the father has a court order to the contrary, mom gets to make the decisions.

There is no standing court right now for visitation or child support. But since the mother is 16 - does the parent of the 16 year old have any say since mom is still a minor?

And her parents get to say what she is allowed to do on must issues....she is not emancipated and is required to follow parental rules.

The infant's mother gets to make decisions for the infant. The 16 year old's parents get to make decisions for the 16 year old.

The baby's grandparents do not automatically get to make decisions for the baby just because the baby's mother is under 18.

The only person who is legally allowed to make decisions for the infant is the 16 year old mother. She is the parent.

But let's remain clear that her parents get to call most of the shots as to what the 16 year old may do .

Not when it comes to the baby.

How exactly would that play out in a real life situation? Such as, baby is sick, mom wants to take baby to the hospital, but grandma believes in a religion where prayer trumps medical science and won't allow mom to leave the house? Not an everyday example I know, but I think it gets the point across that I am trying to make.

Or mom wants to hang out at the park with her child but she is grounded by Grandma due to bad grades.
