A friend of mine has a foreign name that is difficult to pronounce. When she applies for a job using a shortened version of the name which is a little more anglo-saxon, she gets calls for interviews (Otherwise she has a hard time). When she gets hired, she uses her full legal name for the job application. Does this practice violate any legal code?
Recently she registered the fictitious name Stacy Bheahln, and intends to use it for job applications. I.e. she would put her first and last name as Stacy Bheahln on the application, and then sign her name as -- "her real name" dba Stacy Bheahln. Does it violate any legal code for job applications? Also, Stacy Bheahln is registered in a state other than where she intends to work.
