My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: California, Minnesota
I had an abnormal brain MRI and I sent the MRI to a doctor in mayo clinic. He sent me a mail and now they are charging me 3505.84 for a patient visit. I have never been there. I am not sure whether Mayo clinic is contracted through my insurance. I do not thank I have signed a patient agreement with them. I have had them review my MRI 10 years back and they charged 184 dollars or so.
What are my options. I have contacted their office and the response is as services are provided, the charges are accurate. Is not there a rule that you have to tell the person who is receiving a service should be told about the service charges ahead of time and only if he agrees then he can be charged?
