Default Caught for Shoplifting and Worried About Past Offenses

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
3 months ago several items (16.99 ea) were taken on 2 different occasions (classic story did it once, they'll do it again) the same way, concealed in dressing room (huge big box retailer), tags/package left behind. LP# probably visible upon camera review. Used Credit Card on trip. Not stopped. Not followed. Not eye-balled. Went in several times after with no problems. One month later tried at another/different retailer and was apprehended. Was truly "awaken" by that event and now panic stricken over other offense. It's been 116 days (3months). Since Stopped visiting the store. No letters from court. No calls from police.
In your opinion and/or experiences, would something be done by now? If review of empty package (now, knowing reports are done) will they usually lay in wait for person to return or send straight to police?
Reading hundreds and hundreds of posts on here and on other sites, I'm aware of how dispicable shoplifting/theft is and is seen. Never having really read or known of the true consequences by law and it was a punch to the gut! Truly the darkest moment. Your time and response it greatly appreciated even though not deserved.

Most shoplifters are busted redhanded at the time they steal, the goods still stashed somewhere on their person. It’s not likely that other store will match up the prior shoplifting offenses and tie them to you with enough evidence to warrant filing charges against you at this point. But it certainly could happen. It all depends on what evidence the store has and how much effort it makes to match it up with you. It’s probably not a good idea to return there, though, since if they see you and recognize you from prior video or whatever they might just make the effort then to have you arrested.

If you haven't heard anything in 3 months, you probably aren't going to. That being said, they have until the statute of limitations runs to come for you.

Stay out of that store and any of it's ilk in the immediate area.

    Stop stealing.

Get help! The shoplifting behavior is a symptom of something very wrong in your mind and in your life. I doubt you did it just because you wanted the stuff and didn't have the money to get it. That you are doing so much agonizing over something that happened some time ago now is also a symptom of extreme and perhaps unproductive anxiety. There's something going on inside you that you need to change. Panicked is not a normal state, even if you have past crimes that you weren't caught at. It could lead to other unhealthy behaviors, or give you an excuse to do them. Talk to a therapist. Stay out of that store.

Thank you for the replies! Just needed some insight on this situation. Nervous for the upcoming court date (first offense) and yes panicked terrified sickened (guilt and shame will do this to you) by what can come of past offense. Read (googled) so many things I don't know what to think. Especially "reviewing" empty packages found. Review as in video??? Review as in data just being logged into system??? Review to get photo, plate #, look up CC info, file police report. An LP I asked said he just logs empties in for insurance purposes. But store not as aggressive as one in question.
