My question involves an easement in the state of: Colorado (Teller County)

My husband and I own acreage in Teller County, Colorado which is not part of a subdivision (although it butts up against one) and currently has no electricity. We are trying to find out about obtaining electricity through our realtor and today were informed:

"I have exhausted every possibility with individual neighbors in every direction. It`s unfortunate that there were no utility easements put in place at the time those parcels were created."

That being said, does our electrical utility company have the capacity to claim an adverse possession or a prescriptive reason for an easement? It seem unfathomable that neighbors won't cooperate and we butt up against a road and subdivision with electricity running EVERYWHERE but close to us.
