Default Pregnant Teenager Wants to Move Away from Parents' Home

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Texas.

I am 16, I will be 17 in November and I am pregnant. I will be done with school in October-December and be graduating in June. My dad makes me pay $333.00 in rent, $22-$25.00 for gas, and $126.00 for light. I work but I only get 20 hours a week, I get biweekly and make $8 per hour. I called the temple police department and they said I am a legal age to move out I just need to go to the DA office on Tuesday, is the information she gave me correct?

When you turn 17, because Texas is an odd state, the police won't force you home if you move out. By the same token, they won't intervene if your parents march you right back home with them.

    Not 16. Seventeen.

How are you going to support your child? You will have to work 40 hours at least on top of going to school
What your dad is making you pay is nothing compared to the real world. And don't forget about child care to work and go to school. Don't forget filing for child support. Although even with a court order that doesn't mean you will receive it or receive it regularly.

But if you're looking for the age when you can move out and NO ONE can make you move back in again, that age is 18 .

    Not 17. 18.

The police officer you spoke with was probably thinking about emancipation. But, you don't meet the criteria and won't.

You're not taking in where she lives. Some states will not make you move back in when you are seventeen even though eighteen is the leagle age.

You just judge everyone don't you? She asked a question she did not ask for you to judge her based off of the small things you know about her.

I said I was finishing school October-Decenber which I will work full time until I can't and I will get at least 60 hours, the father is a full time cook and gets paid alot so there doesn't need to be any child support if he's already supporting?

Working full time is not, in fact, one of the criteria for emancipation.

Completely (that means WITHOUT the assistance of your boyfriend) supporting yourself is.
