My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Texas
Recently it was our yearly evaluation in which an employee goes up a level (gets a raise) or maintains there current level (no change).
I am on great standing with my company. I have no write-ups or disciplinary actions currently or ever. I recieved a 2.227% increase in pay for leveling up. A coworker who is female also leveled up. She has been written up several times and has recieved written disciplinary action. She recieved a 5.5% increase in pay for leveling up.
Her and I have the same years of experience, the same licenses and certifications. Is it legal for my employer (state of texas) to give her over twice the increase in pay?
This increase in pay has put us making the exact same amount of money. I came from a different hospital and was already making a higher amount when I was brought on 3 years ago. It does not seem right that I am given such a smaller percentage raise when I follow the rules and do the same exact job.
Any advice, or information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
