Default How to Transfer Deferred Probation Due to Family Illness and Living Situation

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Tx and Pa

I was placed on a 5 year probation sentence for burglary. I have been on now for 3 year. My family however is all in Pa and in very bad shape. I'm needing to know how to transfer my probation to take care of my grandmother, aunt and uncle. I don't have any problem following the rules of my probation no matter where i am, but this is something that needs to be done immediately. Needing a lil advice please.

Default Re: Transferring Deferred Probation Due to Family Illness and Living Situation

If you are in good standing, getting a probation transferred is routine. However, transfers are not going to be done "immediately." It is going to take Texas sending the request to Pennsylvania. The local probation office in PA will send back their information and Texas will approve it and return it to them. This all can take a couple of months. You should have a frank discussion about this with your probation officer in Texas. They may be willing to allow you to "travel" or "phone in" to them in the interim. What you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT WANT TO DO is just move to Pennsylvania in violation of your probation. The officials will be specifically disinclined to approve transfers when you abscond on your own.
