    Default What is the Penalty for Check Fraud

    My question involves criminal law for the state of: florida i was wondering if you admitted to doing check fraud for 469.00 and this is your first offense what can happen to you at 19 years of age they charged you with 3rd degrhee felony what can happen

    Fines.

    Jail.

    Don't talk to cops.

    Don't admit anything.

    Hire a lawyer.

    At that amount you're talking a third degree felony, up to $5000 and/or five years in prison. In addition you will be unable to vote, sit on a jury, hold public officers, possess firearms, and have certain professional licenses for a long time (perhaps forever). There will be additional costs even if you get probation. Follow the post above for your strategy.
