I live in another country and was not around at the time when this happened. Thus, why would I be drawn into this? As I am not familiar with the procedures there can you be a bit less cryptic and explain a bit more to me? As I said, he is unable to afford an attorney and the federal public defender will not assist until he is charged. Yet, there are no charges brought and he has not been arrested. The confusing part is why they are still gunning for him when they first said they were not, then offered protection, then brought back some of the equipment and his father admitted to everything.

He should do nothing other than speak with his attorney AND ONLY his attorney.

Speaking to anybody other than an attorney is a mistake. Do you believe that you can't or won't be drawn into this mess? You'd be wrong.

Seriously - he needs to speak only to his attorney. I doubt you have all of the details, and I doubt that even your friend has been 100% honest with you.

Wait a minute. I came here trying to get help for a friend and you seem more intent on slamming me. Others are posting on here about their issues. Is this what you are all about? He is aware I am trying to get advice, thank you. I guess his whole family has not been honest with me, as well? You have yet to explain how I am going to be drawn into this mess. Good heavens child. Let me simplify it for you.

If Bob tells you A, B & C, then if someone is investigating Bob they might just wonder what Bob has said to his friends and family about A, B & C. Investigators are sort of good at that type of thing. I guess that's why they're called "investigators".

That you live outside of the country of course reduces the chances of that happening, but it's still a tactical error in my very humble little opinion for him to discuss anything related to the investigation with anyone other than his attorney.
