How Can a Father Get Full Custody of the Children

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: New York.
My boyfriend and his ex girlfriend have two children together. There is a custody order in affect that states she is the custodial parent and has them sunday at 8:45 till thursday at 4:45, and he is the non custodial parent and has them from thursday at 4:45 till sunday at 8:45 now through this custody order she has to do drug classes and drug court. She has been put in jail twice within the last month for violating court order. My question is what can he do to obtain full custody of the children? School starts in one week and what if this happens during the week when there is school no one is going to be around for the children, plus the fact this is an emotional thing for the children to deal with.

How did she end up in jail for violating the court order, twice in the past month?

The first time was because she missed two classes and this time we have no idea.

There is no substantial change in circumstance as the court is aware of her drug use and still gave her custody. If your boyfriend cared, he would be posting here about this situation. This is truthfully not your legal issue. And until she something happens, dad cannot do anything. Courts don't speculate and make decisions based upon what ifs.

He already has them for a substantial amount of time - that's about as good as he's going to get at this point unless something major happens.

As OG indicated, the court is already aware of her issues.
