Default Felony Embezzlement from an Employer

Hello. I am being charged with embezzlement from walmart. I stole around $3,000.00 dollars from there. I was arrested spent the night in jail and then was released i was told that my case was ajurned, this was 6 months ago. I received a phone call about 2 months ago that i had a felony warrent out for my arrest and that i needed to turn myself in. The detective at the time of the phone call told me to go to the neighboring police department to turn myself in cause i would be able to see a judge a lot sooner the same day. Well yesterday a general detective came to my mother in laws door and asked if she knew me and she told her no. Well i realized that i need to just get this over with. So i was going to go turn myself in tomorrow and i already have a bailbonds man who will get me out the same day, he is a family friend. My question is what will end up happening? I have no record, not even a speeding ticket. I know i will have to pay the money back and fines. But should i be looking at jail time for my first offense. I will request a court appointed attorney. I have no idea how any of this works. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

You should consult a criminal defense lawyer to discuss the facts of your case, and possible plea bargains and dispositions.

    Laws vary by state.

Here's some advice. Watch this video about why you shouldn't talk to police without a lawyer:

Felony charges are nothing to sneeze at (even misdemeanor ones aren't). You NEED an attorney. As pointed out, you should not be talking to anybody about this other than your attorney. You didn't mention your state, but felonies can take a VERY long time to prosecute especially when you are bailed out already.
