Default When Should You Report a Co-Worker's Actions to H.R.

Hello Everyone! I am a top performer in sales at a dealership and have been under attack since i started. This sales guy who is supposed to be a manager in training is semi/friends with management in other departments. I think he is trying to get me fired.

To get to the point, I made a complaint about the rotation and he commented in front of other people that i was on that "junk" hinting that i was on steroids. He keeps saying these comments over and over and now the senior managers are saying it too like it's a joke (ha ha). I don't think it's funny.

The thing that irritates me the most though is this guy keeps telling management that i "hip shoot" which means that i lie to customers. He keeps telling managers that i am lying. Which could get me in trouble.

Now should i report this to HR???

    What should i do??

it has gotten out of hand to the point that all layers of command in our department are making the jokes this is why i feel HR is the best choice

also if i do this what will they try to do? keep in mind my performance is high like double the person in second place. I am not a problem employee i am a top performer

What you are describing, while unpleasant, is not an HWE as defined by law. By all means report it to HR, but I can't even begin to guess what, if anything, they will do. Keep in mind that (1) since what is happening is not illegal, they are not required to do anything and (2) if they do take any action, they do not have to (and will not) tell you what action they take.
