Default How to Break a Lease Due to Unsafe Conditions

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Alabama

Living in an off campus housing apartment for over a year. had other roommates and got along with well. The landlord choose three other new roommates and moved them in with not even knowing their names or given any notice of their arrival and being surprised as one moved in after 8:00pm. The one that moved in at 8:00pm started threatening me and moving around my stuff. Myself and one of the other roommates were woken up at 3:30 in the morning by the same girl and her boyfriend coming back to the apartment. Myself and the other roommate came out of our rooms and the boyfriend then threatened me and the other roommate.
My question is due to these circumstances do we have grounds to break the lease? I have anxiety and this is making it worse. I feel unsafe and no longer wants to stay there. We tried talking with the property manager and was told that we would have to work out the roommate issues.

Are we to guess here that you're renting one room in a multi-room property, with common areas shared by you with the other tenants?

    Yes, that is correct.

I'm very scared to go into our living room and kitchen area. When I go home I stay inside my room.

Are you in actual fear of physical harm? Have you called the police to report their threats?

Yes, I am. Honestly, I'm scared there will be retaliation.
Am I able to send you a private message?

The threat that concerns us the most and really scared us both was the following:

The new roommate and her boyfriend, who we still didn't know their names, loudly arrived back to the apartment about 3:30 am and continued making noise and using appliances like the washer and dryer. Both roommate A and myself came out our rooms asking them to be quiet due to we had to get up early for class. I also asked the boyfriend not to touch my laundry again because those are personal items. The boyfriend said you just messed with the wrong Mother F***ing six foot four 260 pound black boyfriend.
I don't know this person and I'm not sure what he's capable of.

If you feel threatened or have an altercation that might lead to violence, call the police on the spot.
