Default How Do You Get a Job with an Assault Charge and Violation of a No Contact Order

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington

In my life, I have never had any priors whatsoever. I was always honest and hardworking until I got into the wrong relationship with a guy who was married. He promised me the world. I was vulnerable at the time going through a divorce. He told me he would leave his wife over and over again. I moved across the states for this man. He played so many mind games that one night I just lost it and the cops were called. It was a cat scratch fight, he left the scene of course. Me, being so nieve to the whole police thing, I told them the whole truth and I got taken to jail. Me being the victim was treated like the criminal. Now I'm not eligible for a job and everything requires a background check. Welfare?

You can find a job, it just won't be easy. I'm guessing you didn't get a felony conviction so your record, while a pain, isn't the end of the world. You may have to start small and work your way up.

While this may be off topic but you get involved with a married man, physically attack him and you refer to yourself as a "victim"?

Welfare would definitely require you to do extensive work search in the jobs you could get. As someone else said, I doubt if you have a felony conviction. So get out there and start looking instead of sitting on this situation. Who has told you "I'm not eligible for a job"? The welfare office will laugh at this one.
