Charged With Possession of MDMA

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

Recently I was attending my first ever music festival and I was caught in possession of one pill of molly by an undercover cop. I am a student and this is my first offense ever. It was written as a misdemeanor by the cop and I was free to go after given a notice to appear in court. What should I do, I have never been involved with the law before and am really scared for what might happen.
