Supervision is not a drop-dead requirement to be considered exempt except under the Executive exemption. What exactly were your job duties?
My job title was Sales Support Representative (no outside sales responsibilities). My main function was supporting the commercial aspects of our accounts. I basically did what I was told by my superiors and my customers. The type of work was very administrative heavy - taking calls, answering emails, attending internal meetings and conference calls. Other responsibilities included internal projects supporting the company's strategic objectives (KPIs)

The massive overtime actually started in November when my new boss told me that high ranking officials of the company don't think highly of me and I would need to work hard to change that perception. As a result, he piled on multiple projects and additional responsibilities. The only way to keep pace was to work 9 / 10 hr days and use the company notebook to put a few hours in on Saturdays and Sundays. I didn't start documenting the hours until mid February through end of June.

    My biweekly gross was $1829.50

That's not likely to be exempt, I have to agree. You can try filing a wage claim with the state, but NY is an odd duck in many ways and doesn't take all claims. In that case, small claims court might be the way to go.
