Default How Quickly Can Parents Kick an Adult Child Out of Their Home

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Pennsylvania PA

I moved in three weeks ago into my parents' home. The game plan was to help them save over the next few months to move out and I would live here permanently. This was supposed to happen in September/October 2015. I moved out of my apartment at the beginning of July. Then the terms changed. They wouldn't be moving until February/March 2016. And then the truth comes out that they might not even move at all, its all contingent upon someone finding a house for them to move into, in another state. Outside variables basically.

Earlier this evening, my father exploded on me and threatened to kick me out. We only established a verbal contract about one week ago. I've only lived here for three weeks. I told him the best solution is to try and make compromises and establish boundaries so we can all live together. However, as I have a daughter, I cannot tolerate the uncertainty in my life and need to move out ASAP regardless.

How quickly can he kick me out? I would like to think he will come to his senses and be reasonable and at least try to give me a window to work with (2-3 months). But, as I've dealt with him before, I pretty much expect him to be fully irrational and kick me out immediately or attempt to do so.

My mother lives here, too. She's not mad at me but I don't think she will take my side and I pretty much expect her to go along with whatever my Dad decides.

He would have to give you at least 15 days written notice to the end of a rental period.

If "beginning of July" means July 1 he could theoretically wait until August 15 and give you notice for August 31.

If he gave you notice now it would have to be for August 31.

See Section 250.501 (b) of the PA landlord tenant act (page 12):

Then why would you be foolish enough to get yourself into this situation when you already know he's irrational?

Never mind. That's a rhetorical question. Doesn't require you to answer.
